Ephedra genus has some species which may contain phenylethylamine alkaloids (e.g. ephedrine, pseudoephedrine). Contraindicated in a number of conditions including anxiety, anorexia, bulimia, diabetes, glaucoma, hypertension, thyrotoxicosis etc.
