Cautions

Capsella bursa-pastoris contains oxalates & should be avoided in patients with kidney/bile stones & endometriosis. Large doses can caue palpitations. Isothiocyanates can cause irritation & induce goitre. Abortifacient & affects menstrual cycle, therefore avoid in pregnancy & lactation. Can interfere with medications for blood pressure, heart, throid & sedatives. Toxic doses cause respiratory difficulty, enlarged pupils, limb paralysis, sedation & death by respiratory paralysis.
