Anemone genus has species that may contain protoanemonins in the fresh herb causing severe urethral, gastrointestinal & dermal irritation with diarrhea, colic etc. May depress central nervous system & heart. Avoid in pregnancy. Drying converts protoanemonin into non-toxic anemonine.
