Trifolium genus has some species which contain esrogenic isoflavenoids that can cause growth disorders, infertility, urticaria & coumarins that interfere with anticoagulant & hormonal therapy. Avoid in pregancy & lacatation. Plant may be fungally infected causing very high levels of oestrogens. Can cause miscarriage in pregnant grazing animals.
