Plantgo ovata can cause bowel obstruction if there is inadequate fluid intake, also allergic reactions & interaction with other drugs. Should not be taken lying down, before sleeping or with anti-peristaltic drugs. Contraindicated in oesopahgeal, bowel or Gastrointestinal obstruction & diabetes. Can also cause fatal bronchospasm.
