Cautions

The leaves, stems & berries of Viscum cruciatum (Miseltoe) are toxic when taken orally. They contain gastric-irritating alkaloids, cardiac toxins (viscotoxins, phoratoxins) & lectins. Eating small amounts can cause Gastrointestinal symptoms including pain, nausea, vomiting & diarrhea. Large ingestion can cause seizures, hypertension & cardiac arrest. Miseltoe can also cause abortion.
