Notes

Cautions

Salix genus has species which contain salicylates that can cause gastrointestinal bleeding & kidney damage. Avoid during pregnancy & use with other aspirin-like drugs. Care in patients with asthma, diabetes, stomach disease, gout, haemophilia, liver conditions, low thrombocytes, nephrosis & peptic ulcer. Alcohol, barbiturates & sedatives can potentiate salicylate toxicity.
