Notes

Cautions

Ranunculus arvensis contains the oily glycoside, ranunculin, converted to protoanemonin by action of plant enzymes released when the plant is chewed. Protoanemonin is toxic & irritant causing blistering of mucous membranes in mouth & skin. Heating & drying destroys toxins. Strongly contraindicated in pregnancy & lactation.
