Cautions

Chenopodium album accumulates nitrates & soluble oxalates causing sickness & death in livestock if large quantities are ingested. Humans can develop skin photosensitization after exposure to sunlight. Plants in Chenopodium genus also contain saponins which are toxic but usually present in too small quantities to do harm.
